Last Shutdown Date And Time In Windows Vista/XP
Do you wish to see when you PC shut down last time. For me I wanted to know whether my download manager ended the program and shut down the PC at the right time or not here is the way you can come to know the time of last shutdown on Windows Vista and Windows XP Operating System. Here are the steps to follow
Step1 :- Goto Start>Run and then type the following command in Windows XP ===> Eventvwr.msc
or in Windows Vista you can type Event Viewer in the search Bar in start menu and the program will show up.
Step 2:- If in Windows Vista you are prompted by a pop asking for permission to continue click Continue.
Step 3:- In the event viewer in Windows XP click System.
In Windows Vista :- YOu need to double click on the Windows logs in the left sidebar tree view and then click on System. Follow the picture in case of a confusion
Step 4:- To find the time of last shutdown of you computer first sort results by date in case the latest date is not showing on top. For me it is. This will make our work a lot more easier.
Step 5:- Find the entry with the event code 6006 and the Source column reading eventlog. Event viewer tags ID to every process the system performance, 6006 is an ID for shutdown, since we have sorted the event viewer in descending order to its date and time, the first 6006 ID would now determine the last shutdown time.
