OnePlus X launched worldwide Specs, Pics and Reviews

One Plus X

It seems OnePlus is on a roll. After the whopping sale of its first phone, the original OnePlus, came the spectacular OnePlus 2 which has already generated enough buzz, though keeping its prices a tad higher. But still, its loyalists kept their expectations high with OnePlus, and Bingo!! Here comes the OnePlus X. This being the third from the Chinese smartphone maker, it will be available in Onyx and Ceramic versions, both on invite only basis- which now has been the ubiquitous way of selling OnePlus and helped generate the spiraling hype around it.

Priced sleekly @ 16999 INR, the Onyx version will be available on Amazon on November 5 as a flash sale. On the other hand, eyeing the premium customer base, Ceramic version is priced at 22999 INR with only 10K units available for sale, purely on an invite basis. The difference between the two being – the former has a black glass rear panel on a metal bezel while the latter dons a scratch-resistant ceramic back, thus lending it more weight (22 grams more to be exact!).. True to its motto, the smartphone maker is taking the world by storm and never letting the crazy junta to settle down!!

It is widely rumoured that OnePlus wanted to aggressively tap into the one market which had been eluding it so far – the sub-20K market, which is by far the biggest market in India and China, its two biggest markets. That’s why this sudden, unplanned launch.

Let’s get down to skim through the important specs. OnePlus X sports a 5-inch AMOLED display with 1080*1920 resolution with a Corning Glass 3 protection, powered by now-ancient quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3 GHz – which is kind of disappointing as its 3 generations old now. It comes with a 3 GB RAM, packed with 16 GB ROM… Now here comes the biggest surprise – 1st time OnePlus has heeded request for an external storage extendable up to an appreciable 128 GB! OnePlus maintains its unblemished record with camera with a stunning 13MP f/2.2 rear camera and an 8MP f/2.4 front camera. The phone is boosted by a battery of 2525 mAh, which distinguishes it in the gallery of phones available in this price range.

Another stand out feature being it comes with a Hybrid SIM tray – it lets you pick between using two nano SIMs or one SIM and a microSD card slot. In this way, there is an option of converting your beast from a single to dual SIM seamlessly. Needless to say, it’s 4G compatible and includes an FM radio as well.

All-in-all, its early days for giving a final, stamping verdict but given the 1st non-flagship product launched and sub-20K attractiveness of this behemoth, it’s going to be an irresistible fight between the smartphone biggies again. Anyways, we the customers stand to gain, as usual!!
