After much see-sawing, its official at last!! Yuvraj Singh will be tying knot with British model-actress Hazel Keech. He got engaged to her in Bali during Diwali and they plan to get married in February 2016. Yuvraj and Hazel caught the attention of media and twitterati was buzzing with stories of them dating together after they walked in at Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra’s wedding reception in Delhi recently, though both neither denied nor confirmed their relationship.
Though knowing each other for 3 years, the 34 year old Yuvraj has been dating the 28-year old Hazel for the past 3 months only. Their marriage is expected to happen in a traditional manner at Hansaliwale Gurdwara in District Fatehgarh Sahib near Chandigarh, according to reports. Though a series of tweets between Bhajji and Yuvi during the eve of Bhajji’s marriage had certainly pointed at something brewing, the latest official confirmation has put everything to rest!
Yuvi had tweeted best wishes to Bhajji on his marriage to Geeta Basra:
“Can’t bowl the dusra now buddy.. Stick to one line (sic). Wish @harbhajan_singh and @Geeta_Basra a happy life together love u both”, to which Bhajji responded cheekily:
“@YUVSTRONG12 u should also come in a line and play straight now. No cut pull”..
The response to this tweet by Yuvraj dropped a hint which has now been proven true!
“yes mr @harbhajan_singh from Diwali onwards I’m going to play straight.. see u Tom night”
Hazel, born to an British father and an Indian origin Mauritian mother, had starred in the the Salman Khan starrer Bodyguard and Tamil movie Billa. She had also participated in Bigg Boss Season 7, though couldn’t sustain long and was voted out in week 1 itself. Her interests, apart from acting are: surfing, dancing (she’s a trained Western and Indian classical dancer) and has also sung in a couple of musicals. Though she came on a holidaying tour to India, she decided to stay here because of a number of modelling offers and also appeared in some famous music videos – Kahin Pe Nigahen – and tried her hand on a few TV commercials.
Yuvraj’s family and friedns are hopful that this new phase of life will do wonders for Yuvi for his cricketing prospects and help him to represent Indian cricket team at the highest level. Apparently, Yuvraj’s partner choice has been endorsed by his parents. His father Yograj has been quoted as saying “I was introduced to her by Yuvraj and she is a very nice girl. I am confident that marrying her will change his fortunes and he will return to the national squad. He definitely has it in him to represent India.”
Lets hope lady luck in Yuvi’s life works charms for him… We are set to lose another Indian cricket’s bachelor soon to marital bliss!
