Diwali as we know is the festival of lights, long ago during the Tretayug, Lord Rama was born. He was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The sole reason for his his arrival on earth was to banish evil, evil which was in the form of Ravana. Ravan who was a scholar, Pundit, by birth was arrogant Rakshash or devil. His misdeeds of harming mankind was ended by Rama when he kidnapped, mother goddess Sita who was the incarnation of Laxmi, goddess of wealth and wife of Vishnu. Diwali also known as Deepawali or Deepavali, is one of the biggest Hindu festivals. It is celebrated across the nation and subcontinent in Nepal as well.
