Sigiriya is a large stone rock fotress, which is in central Matale District of Sri Lanka. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens ancient reservoirs and amazing other building built in the ancient era. Sigiriya is a one of the eight World Heritage Sites of Srilanka. It’s paintings are similar to that found in Ajanta Caves in India. Accourding to the annuls of history the monastery was used as a shelter from 5th century and was built by King Kashyappan (477-495 CE) and after his death this was a monastery till 14th century. Maindens with flowers to offer to god. Most of the fresco’s have been deleted from the walls, because the Buddhist monks thought they would disturb the meditation but some of them still survive. These walls were well polished and smoothed visitors as early as 8th century BC came to visit this place, in order to see the architecture and the ancient work of engineering done by their ancestors.
