Intel Lorado Ultra-Thin Concept

intel lorado

Intel’s Santa Rosa platform is finding its way into the thinnest notebooks, but if this Lorado laptop comes to fruition it will be the thinnest ultraportable ever to feature the cutting-edge processor. At 2.2 pounds and 0.7 inches thick, the Lorado isn’t much smaller than Toshiba’s Portégé R500 (one of our favorite ultraportables), and it would present road warriors with far fewer compromises between power and mobility. In addition to a cutting-edge chipset, the notebook boasts a larger 13.3-inch display. The coolest part: a portfolio attachment that can accommodate everything from an E-Ink display (great for glancing at e-mails and reading eBooks) to a charging pad (for juicing your cell phone). Don’t hold your breath for this tech, though. Despite the design firms that worked with Intel to develop a functional prototype, there’s no word on whether manufacturers will take the concept to market.
