Socotra Island can be easily said as the most amazing island in the world, with its vegetation astounding enough to awe your mind. The name “Socotra” comes from the Sanskrit name meaning “Island of Bliss” is one of the strangest places on earth. The island is not like anything else and it seems as if you are on another planet. It is believed that the archipelago has been isolated from mainland Africa, the past 6-7 million years, which affected its flora and fauna. The harsh climate, hot sun and that’s such vegetation.
The climate on the island is harsh, hot and dry, still some of the most amazing plants are surviving on the island which is 250 km from Somalia and 340kms from Yemen in Indian ocean. The place is filled with sandy beaches, limestone plateaus and caves which go deep upto 7 kilometers. Apart from this harsh summer there are mountains 1525 meters high.
