Recipe Description
My family loves this Bharavan Bhindi Recipe. It is a simple and easy recipe. Bharvan Bhindi is a very common recipe in the Indian homes. It is primarily eaten during Lunch. Bharavan Bhindi goes well with paratha , but it can also be eaten with rice and dal. You should try this Bharavan Bhindi Recipe.

Ingredients

1 lb Bhendi, washed
1 large onion , sliced finely
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
3 tbsp cooking oil
1 tsp lemon juice
For stuffing:
1 1/2 tsp red chili pwd
1 tsp amchoor
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp saunf(fennel)
2 tsp dhania pwd
1 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp turmeric
Salt to taste

Make one slit on each bhendi and set side.
Heat 1 tbsp of the oil and fry the stuffing masala till well
browned. Not more than a minute.
Stuff each bhendi with this masala and keep the remaining
aside.
Heat the remaining oil, add the cumin seeds and when they splutter add the sliced onions.
When the onions start browning, add the remaining masala
and the bhendi pieces.
Sprinkle some water and salt and cook covered on a low
flame for 30 minutes.
Keep turning occassionally.
When the bhendi is done, take off the stovetop and sprinkle
the lemon juice.Mix well.
Serve hot with chapati/rice and dal.

Another recipe for Bharwa Bhindi
Ingredients
1 lb okra/lady’s fingers/bhindi/bhendi/bhinda
Tempering
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
For stuffing
2 tbsp besan
2 tbsp ground roasted, unsalted peanuts
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp poppy seeds
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
Garnish
1 tbsp chopped cilantro/coriander leaves (optional)
Method
1. Mix all the ingredients for stuffing and keep aside.
2. Wash, dry okra. Cut the tips off on both the sides. Cut the okra into two. Slit the okra, making sure it still remains whole.
3. Stuff the mixture in it.
