Immortals 2011 Review Immortals 2011 story & Trailer

immortals

The story of the movie immortals is based on the war of Gods and evil. The evil comes from earth in form of humans. The story revolves around a powerful bow, which has been casted by Hercules. This bow of Epirus has the power to kill and defeat any God. Knowing the power of this bow, a brutal King called Hyperion tries his cunning ways to get his hands on the bow. Hyperion has a huge army who are willing to do and to go any limits for their king. Following the action of the movie 300, Immortal goes far beyond it. The king is so brutal that he often kills his subjects. Various ancient Roman methods of torture including putting people in a metal cow and burning them is also shown in the movie. The movie is filled with blood and gore certainly not the right movie for underage kids. The movie’s actions is limited and does not go to such limits as expected. The storyline is complicated and is hard to disgest. The gods are shown weak and powerless in the movie.

The hero of the movie is a young man name Theseus (Henry Cavill) who is a villager and is taught fighting methods by Zeus, Zeus who disguises himself as an old man and becomes the teacher of Theseus. Theseus who’s mother is killed by King’s men, vows to avenge the death of his mother in one of Hyperion’s raids. When Theseus meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra (Freida Pinto), her disturbing visions of the young man’s future convince her that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final desperate battle for the future of humanity.  All the gods execpt Zeus and her daughter die according to the movie. Most of the shots in the movie are shot in dark or low light with monotonous colors of red, orange and black.

The movie has average action a bit of fight overall its a 5 out of 10 movie. A rather disappointment.
