Holi is a festival of colors celebrated by Hindus across the world. The story of Holi dates back to Hindu mythology, where the follower of Lord Narayana named Prahalad who was the son of a devil named Hyranyakashyap was being tormented by his father and aunty named Holika. Holika had mystical powers with which no fire could burn her so in order to eliminate the child Prahalad she takes him in her arms and sits on fire. Lord Narayan who sees this and saves his follower from fire on the other hand, Holika perishes in fire. This end of evil and the survival of good is celebrated as Holi.On the day of Holi, a bornfire is created and prayers are done around it. Also in the Dwaparyuga, Lord Naryan’s another incarnation Lord Krishna celebrated the festival of Holi with colors in his city of Mathura. The two events are still celebrated by Hindu’s around the world, people play with colors and enjoy the festival with their friends and family.
