French Pondicherry Picture

Many of you might be unaware of the fact that during 1778, there was a fight between, Great Britain and French armies at Pondicherry on the Indian subcontinent. This was a part of the American Revolutionary war. I think the Indian kings were too scattered in their own kingdoms else they could have united and overthrown the British long ago. Well the British forces besieged the French controlled Pondicherry in August 1778. French had united with the New United States of America to fight the British.
